The writing of this came at an “Aha!” moment, where I realized that joyful acceptance is a key component to love. If you truly love someone, you’ll accept them as they are. Mothers love their children no matter what.
I was discussing my “revelation” with a very wise friend and she said, there has to be both joyful acceptance and joyful giving. Of course she was right, since yin and yang are inseparable companions, but the song was already written.

Written in the early 80’s, recorded on a Fostex 1/4″ 8-track reel-to-reel in my Love Seed Records studio. I imagined Michael MacDonald singing this, with his round, throaty characteristic vocalization. Production is unsophisticated. If I find the cassette it’s on, I may post it.
